The Flash(FC)

On December 9, 2014 it was the mid season finale of a TV show I watch called "The Flash." The mid season finale featured the Flash, Firestorm, and Reverse Flash. If you watch the show then you know what I'm talking about. I was really to surprise to see Firestorm because he is the husband of a woman that helps the Flash in his missions and supposedly he died in a project. He lost all his memories and even helped Barry aka the Flash to fight the Reverse Flash. Barry lost the battle against the Reverse Flash, but it was a cool battle overall.

I'm still kind of mad that Barry still doesn't realized who the Reverse Flash is. At the end one of the unimportant characters name Cisco talks to Detective Joe about how when Barry saw his mother die there were two streaks of lightning, one being yellow and the other red. This just made me realized what happened because I watched the animated flash movie in the summer, so I already know how the season might end. I still enjoy watching the show however because it has to do with a person with powers and it has action as well.

The story of the Flash is the story of a normal man that gets struck by lightning and gets super speed. He has people that helped him develop his power and now he is a full fledged hero. Even though he couldn't stop in the episode he will keep improving to try to beat him and prove that his dad didn't kill his mom.

Part in Gov(ID)

In the class participation in government we are working on individual projects. The projects consist of looking for information on our assigned court cases, making a powerpoint presentation, and then having an oral presentation on it. Our information has to be correct and not opinionated.

The court case that I was assigned to was Hazelwood v. Kuhmeier(1988). I still haven't looked for information on this case, but I will be starting working on my project today. I feel that presentations like this are useful because college consists of oral presentations and projects and this helps us prepare for that.

Also, even though people might not like oral presentations they are good because in college you will have to do the same thing, and in your future job depending on what you want to you might have to give oral presentations as well.

As a result I think this project is a great for preparation for the future.
News Article(SSR)

The news article I read talks about changing a historical place in India into a replica of Times Square in New York. I think that the people in this article present a valid argument in saying that the landmark should stay the same because it is part of their history, but at the same time I believe that the place in India should change.

I understand that we should preserve history, but there comes a time where we have to move on. Technology and people move on everyday. We don't stay the same age forever and technology changes every single year. If I were an Indian citizen and I had the choice to vote on this I would vote for this area to be transformed into a Times Square. My choice would affect people in a negative or positive way, but I would be thinking about the long term affect and not the short term.

If Kala Ghoda were to be transformed into a Times Square I predict that tourism will double in the span of ten years, which will strengthen India's economy. More people will probably invest Indian companies, which will make the Indian government profit. By doing this many people might lose their homes and pollution will increase, but the future generations of India will have greater opportunity education wise.

This article made me think about how a lot of places have places like this, and they are preserved which limits that place's economy from improving because people want to hold onto the past.

Soul and Body(CRR)

In class we discussed about a poem called Soul and Body. We had to look for things in the poem in our groups such as selection of details, syntax, figurative language, and diction. In my opinion the activity was a really good one. I'm not really good dissecting poems and doing it in a group helped. When Ms. Hegeman explained the theme of the poem I became more interested in the poem. I think that it is a good idea to do this with more poems in the future.

I enjoyed the poem because it talked about the struggles of a prisoner of war and how his soul and body were fighting each other. The soul said because of the body it suffered and the body said because of the soul it suffered. While I read the poem vivid forms of imagery formed in my head of a white male man trapped in a prison with shackles on and screaming. Through out the poem words are pain are repeated, which shows the hardships of the torture.

I can relate this poem to war because many of this happened such as in World War 1 and two as well as many other wars. It is hard to go through all this I believe and it takes a painful toll on the mind and body. This poem spoke to me because the diction in the poem made the imagery in my head more vivid, and it touched me emotionally in the sense that when I was reading gloomy emotions arose from me.

Video Games(PB)

I am passionate about playing video games. I think I have been playing video games since I was in 3rd grade. The first video game that I ever played I believe was Pokemon Yellow on the Gameboy color. The Gameboy color was a handheld console that plays video games. The Pokemon game was really fun and the premise of it was to catch Pokemon, train them, and have battles with them. At that time I played it on my friend's Gameboy color.

A few years later I got a Gameboy advance which was the upgrade to the Gameboy color. The games I played on this new handheld system was Pokemon, Mario, and Kirby. The thing I really like about gaming is that hours go pass when you play, and you don't even notice it. Some people see gaming as a waste of time, but I just see it as a hobby that you can do at anytime when you are bored. I still play video games even in high school because they keep me entertained. However, nowadays I only play one genre of games, which is the first person shooter franchise.

In reality the only game I play now is called Call of Duty, and I guess I lost my interest in other gaming genres because they began to bore me. Gaming just makes me happy when I do it, and if I'm having a bad day I could just go on Call of Duty, and beat people online. Gaming for me can help you release emotions and lets you have fun doing it.

I have played video games for the majority of my life, and I will always be passionate about it because I'm good at video games, and even though I don't play as much anymore I still enjoy them.

My Interests(FC)

My name is Andry. I like to play video games, watch anime, and read manga. Anime is the name given to Japanese cartoons. Manga is like Japanese comic books. I was watching before I even knew what it was. As a little kid I used to watch this show called Dragonball Z. It was a show about fighting and other stuff. I found later out that it was an anime, and then I discovered more anime from then on.

Some people think that watching cartoons is childish, but I think its one of the forms that expands your mind because you shouldn't limit yourself to what people tell you to.

My favorite anime is called Naruto. This series many people heard of it even though they may have never watched it before. The main reason I love this show is because the characters. There are three main characters and their names are Naruto, Sasuke, and Sakura. All of these characters have their own back story, and throughout the series we see their development. The Naruto series consists of two parts one which is the first series and the second series is a 2 year time skip of the original called Naruto Shippuden. In Naruto Shippuden the characters are more mature and have taken their own paths.

You might have guessed it, but yes this anime has to do with fighting. However, this anime has many messages and one of them is to never give up on your dreams. This is shown through the character Naruto who will never gives up on the idea of becoming the hokage(leader) of his village. Sasuke accomplished one of his dreams which was to destroy his brother for annihilating his clan, and Sakura's dream was to become a medical ninja.
